Cascade Saddle In February 1996 we walked (among others) the Cascade Saddle track near Mount Aspiring on the South Island of New Zealand. As you see, a formidable view, for which you need to climb 1300 meters over a stretch of 4 km. But arrived at the top the scenary was spectacular. We camped overnight on the saddle. But even while it was summer, the night was very cold. click on image for larger picture
